It is that time of year again, we are gearing up for the Sunday afternoon extravaganza of music and fun that is our annual YMCA fundraiser. This year it will be on Sunday, June 22nd
This year, following tradition, Ronnie Deschenes and friends will be providing the musical entertainment and the Shanty will be donating 5% of her sales from the day to the Y. Guest bartenders from amazing local eateries will be slinging drinks and fun will be had by all. Celebrity MCs to be announced soon.
We are going to try something new this year – a silent auction! We will now have three ways for people to participate. We’ll have a traditional raffle featuring donated items from our community of supporters. We’ll have a daily raffle item for the days leading up to the big day (traditionally a gift item or object, rather than a certificate or event) and we’ll have a silent auction for some one-of-a-kind or once-in-a-lifetime items.
This is where YOU come in: any and all donations are welcome. Donations are all tax-deductible and you will receive a letter from the YMCA acknowledging your gift after the event.
If you’d like to donate a daily raffle item we’ll feature you prominently on our Facebook page (Over 4,700 fans) and on the YMCA event page. Losing tickets will go into the big raffle the day of the event. We will just need the object in-hand ASAP. We’d like to begin daily raffles on June 13th
If you have a silent auction donation, you are our new best friend. So far for the auction we have tickets to a turn-around cruise on the USS Constitution on the 4th poem affixed to a piece of wood from an historic ship.
Raffle items are always welcome, from tickets to passes to gift certificates to T-shirts. Smaller items might be bundled by theme – such as trolley tickets and dinner or coffee and dessert. Y’all get the idea.

Last year we donated a total of $4,325.00 in cash to the Salem YMCA – this year we’d love to top $5,000 and with your help we can totally do it.
