Sorry, WE do NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS
Large parties are a challenge for us, we are just a tiny shanty

To answer few common questions;
Do you take reservations?
No, we do not take reservations.
We are such a small place we are unable to do so - however, we will do our best to seat you as soon as possible when you arrive. During peak times, such as weekends and holidays you many have to wait. We promise it will be worth it.
Can I bring 15 friends for a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon?
Large parties are a real challenge for us, any more than six people and you'll need to be very patient and flexible with us. Our dining room only seats 30 people total. We may have to seat you all at separate tables at different times.
(There is an automatic gratuity for parties of four or more, this includes children.)
What are your hours?
Our hours change with the seasons - please check our home page, or better yet - You can find the freshest Shantastic news on our facebook page.
What is your policy on dogs?
Dogs are welcome on our patio!
Here is a link to the dog rules; these are part of the variance from the City of Salem that will allow your furry friends to dine with you. Please read them carefully.
At this time, dogs are the only pets allowed on our patios - so please leave your cats, snakes & birds at home.
Woof, Woof!
What else can we do when we are in Salem?

Although we are just a tiny shanty, we do our best to buy locally, recycle everything we can and compost all of our organic waste. In an effort to reduce our plastic waste, our straws, souffle cups, and take out flatware are all compostable. Our take out containers are also recyclable or compostable.
As a courtesy to our adult patrons, no one under 21 is allowed to sit at the bar. Also, once our kitchen is closed, the Lobster Shanty is strictly 21+.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. We follow McSorley's golden rule "Be Good or Be Gone".
We have a small selection of T-shirts and hoodies available for sale. If you have enough time, we can even do special orders for you. We also occasionally have stickers, koozies and other fun stuff as well.
